CONDUS SHUMAN

Condus Shuman, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Children’s Theatre, she also holds a Certificate in Event Planning from Emory University, and a MBA in Leadership & Change Management from Concordia University of Chicago.

Condus is a Nutrition Program Specialist for the Atlanta Public School Nutrition Department, receiving numerous recognitions as a highly reverted Free and Reduced Price Meal Program and Wellness Program expert. She was instrumental in developing and implementing programs that promote student success and healthy schools by supporting wellness, good nutrition, and regular physical activity as a part of the total learning environment. This outstanding work received national recognition from First Lady Michelle Obama, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Additionally, she has collaborated with associate superintendents on designing and implementing programs for school site administrators. These training sessions, policies, processes, and procedures have cultivated a solid foundation for program success. These initiatives developed for the complex and fascinating interactions among schools and students have watered the seed from which her passion for student success has grown.

Her event planning and production management expertise have allowed her to utilize many production designs and directing skills, making her a respected production director. She has directed the Clark Atlanta University Miss Black & Gold Pageant, served as Artistic Director for Showtime in the AUC produced by Vinson Inc., and designed and coordinated several Metro Atlanta high school homecoming coronations and events.

For the past nine years, Condus has served on the Youth Empowerment Board for Enchanted Closet Inc., a volunteer-run nonprofit organization focused on aiding girls holistically to empower and enhance self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-sufficiency. She has served as the Director of Special Events for the past eight years and assisted in developing the GIRL$ Service-Learning Programs. She has planned and executed the fundraisers raising over $20,000. As well as steering the annual Prom Dress Giveaway; whereas, thousands of prom gowns, shoes, and accessories have been given away to over 6,00 middle and high school girls annually in Metro Atlanta. Condus also serves as Executive Director for the Battle of the DanceLines (BODL) dance competition, highlighting the top high school marching band dance lines in Metro Atlanta and the Southeast.

Condus is an active member of the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Chi Tau Omega Chapter; she serves asChairman of Target 4: The ARTS! and Co-Chairman of the Miss Calendar Girl pageant for the Community CARES. Foundation (CCF). She loves helping others through service and has a passion for passing the torch of knowledge, culture, and exposure to the next generation. Condus is dedicated to investing in flourishing youth and honestly believes that an investment made in every boy and girl is an investment made to the entire world.
